Storybook Pages
Every torn page holds a secret the Guild tried to bury.
Storybook Pages are a collectible narrative item featured in Sly Cooper and the Thieves' Guild (2013). Scattered throughout the game's levels, they function as a secondary collectible that, when gathered, piece together a written account of the Thieves' Guild's history, its constituent guilds, and the world the Cooper crew navigates. They are not required to complete the main story but reward thorough exploration.
The pages are presented as torn sheets of aged paper, each carrying a fragment of a larger tale. Collecting them gives players a deeper look into the lore surrounding the guild system that forms the backbone of the game's setting, complementing the main narrative with background context about the various criminal organizations scattered across the world.

Lore & Background
The Thieves' Guild, the sprawling criminal network at the heart of Sly Cooper and the Thieves' Guild, has a long and complicated history. The Storybook Pages serve as a fragmentary record of that history—accounts of how the guild was assembled, how its member organizations rose and fell, and the rivalries that shaped the criminal underworld. The pages are written in a style that reads like a children's storybook gone slightly wrong: whimsical in tone but heavy with the weight of betrayal, heists, and power struggles.
Within the game's world, the pages appear to have been torn from a larger volume and scattered deliberately, as if someone wanted the full story to remain incomplete. Finding them is an act of quiet detective work, rewarding players who take detours, check hidden alcoves, and explore the less obvious paths through each level. The narrative they assemble is secondary to the main plot but enriches the setting, giving texture to the guilds and characters the player encounters.
The storybook format itself is a nod to the franchise's playful, cartoonish tone. Even as the pages deal with serious themes of loyalty and corruption, their presentation keeps the mood light, in keeping with the Sly Cooper series' tradition of blending heist-game structure with a storybook sensibility.
In Their Own Story
The page was tucked behind a loose brick in the alley, half-hidden by a coil of rope. Bentley's paws fumbled with it, the paper brittle and yellowed at the edges. He held it up to the grey afternoon light and read the single line scrawled in faded ink: 'The Guild does not forgive. It forgets. And forgetting is worse.' He turned it over. On the back, someone had drawn a small, lopsided raccoon with a bandana. Bentley snorted, tucked the page into his satchel beside the others, and muttered something about 'tacky fan art' before the alley swallowed the sound. Above them, a crow watched, unimpressed, and flew off toward the next district.
Reader's Guide
Storybook Pages are a secondary collectible in Sly Cooper and the Thieves' Guild. They are not needed to finish the main story, so players can ignore them if they wish, but collecting the full set unlocks the complete guild-history narrative.
How to find them: Each page is placed in a specific level, usually tucked away in a spot that requires a small detour—climbing a side wall, squeezing through a narrow gap, or checking a hidden room. They glow or shimmer slightly so they are visible if you look carefully. There is no map marker; you have to explore.
Which character: The pages are collected by the player (controlling Sly) and are associated with Bentley's storybook in the narrative framing. Bentley is the one who 'reads' and assembles the tale.
Upgrades / variants: The pages do not have mechanical upgrades. Their only progression is numerical—collect more to unlock more of the story text. There are no alternate versions or rarer variants in later entries; the item is specific to Sly Cooper and the Thieves' Guild.
Tip: If you miss a page in a level, you can replay that level freely. There is no time limit, so take your time checking corners and elevated platforms.
