Lore & Background
The Panda King grew up fascinated with the art of fireworks. When he attempted to present his own fireworks to the noblemen, they rejected him due to his poor social status. He gained revenge by using fireworks as tools for destruction and ran an extortion ring of robbing small villages under the threat of burying them alive in avalanches caused by fireworks before Sly defeated him. Later, when Bentley determined that they needed someone with knowledge of more powerful explosives for the Cooper Vault job in Sly 3, he recommended the Panda King. Sly at first vehemently opposed the idea, but eventually the Panda King was recruited to help the Cooper Gang.
In Their Own Story
The mountain air was thick with the scent of gunpowder and smoke. The Panda King stood atop his fortress, watching the night sky erupt in a cascade of crimson and gold. Each burst was a memory — of his father's calloused hands guiding a fuse, of the day he swore allegiance to Clockwerk for a promise of power, of the countless heists that left a trail of ash and regret. He lit another fuse, and the explosion painted the clouds with sorrow. 'No more,' he whispered to the wind, as the last ember faded into the dark. He turned his back on the past, but the fire within him still burned — for redemption, not destruction.
